What is continuing education

Continuing education is important even during a recession. During an economic downturn, there are likely employees who are expected to take on more responsibilities. Therefore, companies should invest in training and education to give employees the necessary skills to fulfill those responsibilities. All continuing education programs are designed to provide growth and development in knowledge and skill of the targeted audiences.

What is a CEU?

• The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized standard unit of measurement for participation in a continuing education (CE) activity that is not offered for academic credit.
• One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized CE experience offered by a provider, excluding meals and breaks. The contact hour is defined as 1 clock hour (60 minutes) of interaction between a learner and instructor or between learner and materials that have been prepared to facilitate learning.

Program Development and Evaluation

Services provided to enhance organization effectiveness includes assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation of customized solutions.

Curriculum

The curriculum for each of the certification programs undergoes constant review and updating to reflect the latest changes that may occur in the industry.  Our goal is to provide each student with the tools, which will encourage them to think and work productively.

Needs Assessment and Performance Gap Analysis

Organizational needs assessments and performance gap analyses are conducted on an ongoing basis to determine training plans and knowledge management needs. Needs for training and non-training services are identified through a review of organizational plans, hospital mission and values, hospital’s goals, risk management and patient safety data, case mix of patient population served, technology used to care for the patients, equipment safety, patient care expectations, survey evaluations and requests. An annual needs assessment is conducted in December.

Instructional Design

Learning is designed considering adult learning principles, adult learning philosophies, learning styles, methodologies, and resources needed to obtain effective outcomes. In addition to traditional learning methodologies clinical training is designed and delivered.

Training Delivery

Qualified trainers conduct or coordinate training sessions intended to teach people what they do not currently know but need to know.

Program Evaluation

Ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of educational programs are conducted using the evaluation levels to ensure that learning outcomes and organizational outcomes are improved. Measures are benchmarked against best practice organizations. Surveys are conducted at the end of each program and 2-4 months after the program to evaluate learning application in the work setting.

Purpose

Medical Certification Bridge Program (NMCBP) seeks to provide health care professionals high-quality learning opportunities that improve their competence, support their performance and preparedness for certification/ licensure, and increase the vitality and efficiency of their practice by providing educational programming that is high-quality, evidence-based, up-to-date, and learner-driven to enrich their continued professional education and development to improve patient outcomes.

Expected Outcomes

Medical Certification Bridge Program (NMCBP)  activities provide healthcare providers the knowledge, competence and/or performance skills needed to support improve patient outcomes through integration of evidence-based CME/CPD content and models that support quality improvement in practice. The Medical Certification Bridge Program (NMCBP)  evaluates the effectiveness of Medical Certification Bridge Program (NMCBP)  activities through a combination of member feedback, practice evaluation and patient-level outcomes. Outcomes are incorporated into the design of future educational programming and evaluated to measure the effectiveness of the instructional models included.

• E-Learning (Online) or Home Study for those of you who prefer to study and test on your own time in the comfort of your own home.

Why do we offer this program

Medical Certification Bridge Program(NMCBPs) accelerated hands-on continuing education & certification workshop’s were developed for (qualified healthcare professionals) that don’t have thousands of dollars to spend going back to school in tough economic times like these for skills they already have when they really only need a refresher, continuing education or certification.

Most Healthcare professionals have experience, but lack documentation. Our certification workshops are designed to give the healthcare professional a refresher or continuing education hands-on class, which includes certification, because most employers only hire healthcare professionals with valid certification.

Our Workshops consist of a – One day class – Combination of Home study and Hands on classroom. THESE 1 DAY CERTIFICATION WORKSHOPS FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS ARE FAST, SKILL-BASED AND HANDS-ON HELD FROM 10 AM-7 PM. Upon successful completion of the Workshop, the participant will receive a national certification, valid in all US states*.

These workshop’s are tailored to adult learning styles and promotes retention of key concepts through Classroom instruction, which will consist of theory providing the competencies required by the certification board for Certified Healthcare Professionals.

Our goal is to help you complete the certification workshop successfully, pass your certification exams, so you’re able to get a job in your career as quickly as possible. The faculty members of Medical Certification Bridge Program have both real world and academic experience and are dedicated to meeting the educational and workforce training needs of communities and businesses across the nation.

We offer a full suite of accelerated continuing education & healthcare certification workshops for (qualified healthcare professionals) in a variety of healthcare fields, ranging from 1-2 day’s to not more that 16 hours, including Phlebotomy Technician CPT, Clinical Medical Assistant CMA, Patient Care Technician CPCT, EKG Technician CET, Pharmacy Technician CPHT, Medical Billing & Coding Specialist CBCS, Medical Laboratory Assistant CMLA, Paramedical Exam Technician CIET, and Medical Administrative Assistant CMAA.

Healthcare Workers Bridge Program

No written exam is required!!

Your work experience may qualify you for our healthcare workers certification bridge program, which allows you to obtain certification from your work experience alone. Candidates who meet the requirements listed on the Healthcare Workers Bridge page will receive a waiver on the written exam. Please view the Healthcare Workers Bridge Program Page for details.

Option 2.

If you have no experience you can apply through a partner licensed school NCMTI for entry-level programs.

1. No experience Required!! Do you offer programs for people with no experience? Our partner NCMTI offers entry-level programs for students that do not qualify for our 1-day accelerated hands-on continuing education & certification workshops. Please visit New Careers site to learn more about the entry-level programs offered.

1.Why should I choose Medical Certification Bridge Program

If you should fail the program, you may retake the program & exam free of charge three times.

Our continuing education activities & certification workshops are designed to help only those who are at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED, and with prior experience in the field to enhance your skills from previous training, keep you abreast with industry standards and provide the mandatory continuing education units required to keep your certification current. These Continuing Education Activities are insufficient in length and content to qualify as gainful employment for entry-level occupational Training.

At Medical Certification Bridge Program our students come first. We provide participants with a unique CME learning opportunity. Medical Certification Bridge Program is the place to improve job skills, earn certifications and continue your professional training. We offer a variety of healthcare seminars in Phlebotomy Technician, Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, IV certification, CPR, and Paramedical Examiner. Medical Certification Bridge Program also offers a wide variety of Healthcare certifications. Our #1 goal is to educate and provide unsurpassed excellence training by providing formal lecture and practical “hands-on” training. Our certification programs are designed to help only those who are at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma GED or Have the equivalent from a foreign country, and with prior experience in the field to enhance your skills from previous training, keep you abreast with industry standards and provide the mandatory continuing education units required to keep your certification current.

5. Location states TBA.  Where is the seminar being held?

Training facilities address will be emailed to you as we get closer to the training date. Check the website calender for updates. You will also receive a confirmation call by phone from your seminar instructor and email confirmation.

6. Do I need to register for the workshop?

Yes. Seating is limited. We require you to pre-register in advance. Pre- registration is mandatory. In order to host the training in your area registrations are needed. The Training Facilities address will be emailed to you, as we get closer to the training date. You can also contact our office to get updated facility locations. However, if you want to take the program, you must register and pay the non-refundable registration fee for the training to secure a seat. *If we don’t get enough registrations for the program, we do reserve the right to cancel the class and you will receive a full refund in 5-days unless you decide to schedule for another location or for the next upcoming program in your area, if applicable. Medical Certification Bridge Program reserves the right to cancel a program for reasons beyond our control.  A program may be cancelled for reasons beyond our control such as weather, acts of God, terrorist attacks, heighten terror alerts or travel concerns. You will have the option to receive a full refund or attend the next scheduled seminar. If you have registered and do not hear from our office a week before the class, please contact us right away.

8. Do you allow Walk-ins?

Registration is mandatory. In order to make a determination that we have enough registrations to host the program, we do require pre-registrations.

9. Am I required to pay a late fee after the deadline?

No. Medical Certification Bridge Program does not accept late registrations

10. What are the methods of payment?

The Medical Certification Bridge Program must be paid online, all remaining balances can be paid online or in person when you arrive to the program training facility.

11. Do you offer financial assistance?

No. Medical Certification Bridge Program is not a school. We do not offer financial assistance. However you may check with your employer or contact agencies in your area that may pay for CME and certification seminars or offer vouchers that pay for continuing medical education programs.

12. What if I registered for the program, but need to cancel?

1) You may cancel your registration in writing by mail or email. Cancellation must be requested 2 weeks before the start of the program.  Cancellations requested according to policy you will not receive a refund. You may attend the next scheduled program in your area.

13. What will I receive at the end of the program to show proof of training? Will I be a certified?

You will receive a continuing medical education certificate of participation. You will also receive certification once you successfully pass the NHCWA exam at the end of the program. You may also apply for certification from other agencies that offer that service. You have to meet their criteria to take their certification exam. Again, we only provide NHCWA certification. The learner will also earn 10 or 16 CEU hours of credit for participating in our accredited programs.

14. When will the next program be held in my city?

The program training dates are listed on the schedule. Private group training are offered in addition to the scheduled classes.

15. What is the minimum education requirement?

16.  Will I receive my classroom materials in the mail?

Yes.  preparatory reading material will be provided at no cost from an outside vendor

Upon registration, you will receive a link from an outside vendor to download the free preparatory reading handout, which includes practice test in PDF format. You may either print this handout and bring the hardcopy with you, or open the PDF using a reader on your mobile device or tablet – we recommend Adobe reader; it works great for editing and note taking!

Preparatory reading must be completed before students arrive for the live training section of the certification program.

Regulations for the certification program for both NHCWA CEUs and NPCTA call for self-evaluations to be completed by participants to demonstrate that they had viewed the entirety of each preparatory reading. Medical Certification Bridge Program has chosen to require participants to complete “quizzes” to comply with these rules. If a participant receives less than a 70 percent on a quiz, he or she will be asked to retake the quiz. Each quiz may be viewed three times, making it possible for the participant to review either the entire or sections of the quiz in order to better prepare for the national exam.

17. Can I fail the program?

You are required to pass a test at the end of the seminar with a 70% or higher.
Hands –on is pass or fail

If you should fail the program, you may retake the program & exam free of charge three times. If the final test is not passed, you will not be able to sit for the certification exam at the end of the program.

18. What do I need to bring to the program?

You will need to be 18 years old and present with a photo ID upon registration
You need to bring a valid photo I.D., paper and a pen to take notes.
Notes from your reading and study material.

19. What should I wear to the program?

You may wear appropriate casual clothing or scrubs and sneakers only. You will also be required to wear close-toed shoes (no open-toed shoes or sandals), this is OSHA requirement for drawing blood. Please do not wear shorts, skirts or capri pants to class. Students who come to class out of dress code (ie: open-toed shoes, shorts, skirts or capri pants) that violates OSHA requirements will be asked to reschedule in another class.

20. Can I get a job as a Phlebotomist, EKG Technician, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician or Paramedical Exam Technician after completeing the CME program?

Medical Certification Bridge Program provides continuing medical education certification services and a certificate of participation. We do not provide jobs, guarantee jobs, or provide placement into a job. Check your local area for their requirements. You need to do your homework so that you can make an informed decision. 21. Can I order a duplicate copy of my certificate?

(Yes) there is a $5 fee to reorder a certificate of participation

23. What will be covered in the Medical Certification Bridge Program?

Our program’s are tailored to adult learning styles and promotes retention of key concepts through Classroom instruction, which will consist of theory providing the competencies required by the certification board for Certified Healthcare Professionals. The program will also include lab (hands on training, class room lecture, group discussions and activities. You will practice EKG’s and drawing blood on a training aid and then practice drawing blood and ekg ‘s on each other.  All programs attendees will be required to perform live venipuncture’s on each other under the direction of the instructor and/or licensed phlebotomist preceptor.

24. What are the guidelines for Phlebotomy in California or Louisiana?

Check the state’s requirements. These guidelines refer to people who want to work with a title as a Phlebotomist who work in a hospital or lab. Medical professionals such as MA, LVN, EMT, RN, PA, MD, Research, etc. are welcomed. For more details:  google “Phlebotomy in California”.

25. Who can attend the programs?

Qualified professionals include those with prior healthcare training or experience such as:  Certified Nurse Assistant – CNA/GNA, Medical Assistant – MA, Patient Care Technician – PCT/PCA/NT, Nurse – RN, LPN, LVN, Doctor – MD, Physician Assistant – PA, CRA/CRC, Emergency Medical Technician – EMT, Phlebotomy Technician – PT, IV Tech, Medical Lab Technician – MLT/MLA, Medical Office – MOA, Hemo Dialysis – HDT, student of Allied Health, Clinical Research, Nursing, Pre-Med or all Medical or Natural Science Majors (Biology, Chemistry).Medical/Healthcare-related courses that you may have taken or are currently taking. You need not have fully completed these courses nor earned a degree/certificate/or license, in order to be eligible to attend our workshop, Actual field work, on the job training, internships/externships, home health care, etc’ Volunteering in a medical/healthcare setting. 26. When will I receive my certification?

7 days after the date you passed the exam. The price for certification exam testing fee is included in the program tuition.

27. When will I know if I passed the exam?
At the end of the program, The exam is computer based.

28. When will I take the exam?
At the end of the seminar.

29. Is the program approved for CME credit?
Yes This CME Activity is approved for a Maximum of 60 contact hours.

Satisfactory completion
Participants must complete an attendance/evaluation form in order to receive a certificate of participation/attendance.  Your chosen cme sessions must be attended in its entirety. Partial credit of individual sessions is not available.
